Busy week.
I did a lot of stuff this week, but I'll just talk about some stuff.
Kolin and I have been sleeping on a twin bed since we came to California in February. Because of that, my hip has been out. I was watching TV while washing dishes (I think) and I saw a commercial for Sit 'N' Sleep. They were having their annual Labor Day sale. Kolin and I went to check it out Wednesday and when we left, I had put down $40 to save the bed until I could pay the rest of it off. The bed was priced at $769 from $1,000. When the sales person (named Chris) asked me if I wanted to refinance I told him no. I told him that I liked to pay things off right away. I hate bills. He wanted to sell me the bed so bad, I guess, because he knocked off $100 off the price. It was down to $669. Then he said that I could put whatever I wanted down so that he could hold it for me and when I was ready to pay for the rest, it would be ready for me to take home. When I filled the paperwork he went down to $650. So with tax it all came out to $700.35. It's a good deal on a good bed. And I tried about five or six beds before I picked the one I bought. I liked the fact that you didn't need a pillow while laying down on it.
Kolin and I did some work on Thursday evening. He mostly did the work, but I did whatever I could do to help. We broke our shitty boxspring from our bed. We had to break it in order to save a trip to the city dump. Then we thought about breaking my old headboard, but as soon as he started to break it apart I got a great idea. I asked Kolin to turn it into a headboard/wall display. I won't even bother to explain what it looks like. I sent some pictures into my t-mobile journal so you can see what I wish I could explain.

In that old headboard I put some Halloween candle holders I bought at Michael's. They rock. And that green frabric was put there for a reason. Not just to make it girly. I didn't like that you could see the brackets on the wall (the ones that are holding up the headboard), so I bought some fabric to hide them. Simple. And I had bought the sheets back in November. Those sheets are so soft. I got lucky! It feels like I am laying on a cloud. I just wish I could get some actual sleep. My hip is too shitty for me to fully enjoy the bed. Kolin is getting some good sleep, though. That's good enough for me.
